Auction for Japan tsunami

I am honoured to contribute a painting for auction titled "Kyōtsū - HACHI" to support the victims of 11 March 2011 Japanese tsunami.

The painting depicts several common elements from the Indian Ocean tsunami of 2004, that devastated my country (Maldives) and, the recent tsunami that devastated the east coast of Japan. The title of the painting derives from the total sum of the numeric dates of the two tsunamis. Interestingly, both dates equal to number eight (26-12-2004 and 11-03-2011).

I am also happy to share that we already have an initial bid of £5000 made for the painting, and would like to humbly appeal others to make bids for the painting. All the money (100%) of the proceeds from the auction will go to the Japanese tsunami victims, and will be handed over to the Japanese Embassy in London at the end of the auction date on 15 April 2011.
